	Over half of Americans are spending more than 5 billion a year on bottled water and in faulty home water systems. Advertisements certainly make it look pure and clean, but in reality most bottled water is just tap water with a fancy label. A survey done by the FDA stated that 30% of the 50 some brands tested were positive for bacteria. The plastic that most manufacturers use can leach toxins such as methyl xenoestrogens and chloride (carcinogens that may impair fertility and cause cancer of the reproductive tissues) into the bottled water. Distillation is the best way to purify water . As long as electricity is available we recommend Models 9000 or 4000. When electricity is not available we recommend Model 1600. Using these quality distillation system will virtually remove every kind of bacteria, virus, parasite, and pathogen, as well as pesticides, herbicides, organic and inorganic chemicals, heavy metals (dissolved or otherwise) and even radioactive contaminants. Just fill the distiller with tap, lake, or river water, plug it into any standard electrical outlet, and push start. It’s that simple! The distiller automatically turns off when the cycle is completed. There’s no installation required, so this unit is very mobile, except for the electrical requirements. Value: Very economical units. Based on a national average electric cost of 8 cents per kilowatt hour, it costs 25 cents to make 1 gallon of distilled water. Compare that with bottled water. Distillate Capacity: Model 9000 - 1 gal. in 4.5 hours up to 5 gal. in 24 hrs. Model 4000 - 1 gal. in 4 hours Cleaning: Some distillers "bake on" minerals and periodic cleaning can be a real hassle. With the Waterwise unit the boiling tank is easily removable and designed to leave a little dampness in the boiling chamber at the end of the cycle to avoid the "bake on" problem. We have a biodegradable, phosphate-free cleaner/descaler called Kleenwise™ that dissolves scale build-up, without scouring or scraping. Vinegar works just fine, but the Kleenwise is faster. Carbon Post-Filters: In some cases, organic chemicals can convert to gas when boiled, like when chlorine turns to chloroform. The Waterwise 9000 & 4000 have a carbon post-filter which removes any gasses that may form during the distillation process. After the steam has been condensed back into water, it’s passed through this filter for final treatment. We have also learned that Waterwise distillers are used by science labs, medical offices, missionaries, and the Peace Corps both here in the U.S. and abroad. Note: If your electricity goes out, these units can easily be operated by standard electrical generators (5-20 KW)...it only uses 750 watts of electricity. Also available in 220 volt.
